FACS Analysis
FACS AnalysisFor FACS analysis we have a number of machines with different lasers and possible color combinations.
Overview of Lighthouse FACS Analysers
() - Number of possible fluorescent detectors/Laser * - The Sony spectral analyzers have spectral detectors, allowing the unmixing (separation) and analysis of multiple colors simultaneously. The 3-laser SP6800 is capable of 20+ colors, the 5-laser Sony ID7000 is capable of 40+ colors.
Please contact the Lighthouse staff for advice on which machine would be best suited for your experiments, or for help with panel design, as well as to ask about the date and time of the next training session.Lighthouse has recently acquired a Sony SP6800 ZE Spectral Analyzer. This machine has particular advantages not only for samples containing fluorochromes with overlapping emission spectra, but also for samples containing high levels of autofluorescence, studies which take place over longer time periods, as well as being easy-to-use for FACS beginners. For additional help with panel design, we have listed the configurations of Lighthouse analysers on the Fluorofinder website. The best time to do this is when first planning a new experiment.Lighthouse also has aCuriox Laminar Wash system, which can be used during sample preparation to improve reproducibility, remove unwanted cell debris, and avoid cell loss in samples with low numbers of cells. If you are interested in using the system, please contact us at facslab(at)uniklinik-freiburg.de.
Training SessionsFor up-to-date listings for the next FACS analysis training sessions please see our website at the Medical Center.
Offline AnalysisLighthouse also has offline analysis workstations with several flow cytometry analysis software programs that you are welcome to use:
